Hello, hopefully this is the right forum, I can't seem to find one specific to the Windows 8.1 ADK/VAMT 3
So I have an existing KMS host on a 2008r2 box with VAMT 3.0 successfully activating Windows 8 and Office 2013. I would like for it to activate our 8.1 clients as well, so I followed the instructions for KB2885698

Rebooted afterwards and the update shows installed successfully
Next I imported the 2012 R2 KMS host key successfully via slmgr (all via admin powershell prompt) It does not show up in the VAMT console, but did return a success:

Next I attempted to activate the key, but it fails:

(translates to operation timed out)
Results of slmgr /dlv all shows it installed, but is not activated. How do I get it to activate? firewall port is open, and it worked fine with 8.0, just not not for 8.1

Also, I keep reading about a VAMT 3.1, is there a 3.1? when I install VAMT from the 8.1 ADK it still shows up as 3.0 and does not allow me to import the same 2012 r2 KMS host key that successfully imported with slmgr. when I check the VAMT version it's not 3.anything, it's 6.2.9200.0 (from help, about VAMT) or 8.59.25584 from add/remove programs...
