I'm running Windows 8 Pro on an old Dell server (PowerEdge 2800). I fully understand that the Xeon processors in this machine aren't supported by Windows 8.1 and so I'm stuck with W8 for the rest of the life of the machine. Why can't I get rid of the "Update
Windows" tile in the store? I thought it'd go away as soon as the first, unsuccessful attempt at an update was performed, but it didn't. Is there any way to remove it?
I've already removed KB2871389 and followed the advice at
