When trying to join multiple windows 8 pro pc's to our AD Domain we get the same problem:
First when the PC is joined to the domain, it says Welcome to the Domain! Click to continue, the hour glass spins for a while, and then we get a message stating:
Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer ""Failed.
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
When the machine reboots, I logon to the domain. I click on cmd prompt, and can run nslookup "PCNAME" and it returns the server info correctly, as well as the PC information!
echo %Logonserver% returns my DC server name!
But if I run gpupdate /force I get: Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encountered: .....Lack of network connectivity to a domain controller.
We have 350 Windows 7 PC's that connect with no problem! 20 Windows XP pc's that are connected with no problem that we would like to migrate over to windows 8!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
