I upgraded from 32-bit Windows 7 to 32-bit Windows 8 Pro and my CD/DVD drive has simply disappeared :(
It was working fine in Windows 7 and the upgrade was performed from a DVD/ROM in this very same drive.
When I open Device Manager there is no entry for DVD/CD-ROM drives or anything like that :(
