I performed an upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7. In a new installed machine for Windows 8, at the start screen you can just type and it automatically searches. In my upgraded version it doesn't. I have to go open search in order to use it. Is there a way to get this to work like a new install? Also, if I pull up the search window via left swipe / start it only gives me the ability to search internet based apps, it doesn't give me the ability to search local apps or files etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
