Hello - I'm looking for some help with Windows 8.1 drivers for Nvidia GeForce 9800GT.
I have been using the drivers for this card provided by Windows Update for a couple weeks (since I installed Windows 8.1). They worked fine, until a couple days ago when I started getting BSODs with the error VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR. I get that error within a few minutes of booting the system. No other Windows Updates occurred right before this started.
If I try to use the drivers from the Nvidia website, I get a black screen with the mouse cursor blinking as soon as the drivers are installed. I tried multiple versions, latest stable, older stable, latest beta. The only way to resolve it is to reboot into safe mode, uninstall the driver, and revert to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver.
It seems the issue with Nvidia have been reported a lot, at least when 8.1 was first released, but I have been unable to resolve it. I don't see reports of the other issue though, with the drivers provided by Windows Update.
