The Computer was turned on and Windows 8.1 (64) GER started. The login screen was displayed. I left the room and came back 30 minutes later to see a blue screen stating that the PC was not able to start correctly. I selected the advanced options and trouble shooting.
I tried Automatic Repair and also to start with different Startup Settings (like Safe Mode and other options). Nothing worked.
I tried System Restore to the last restore point. This didn't work either. Windows continues starting to the repair screen.
I tried the PC Refresh Option. Since Win 8.1 was installed with the update service I don't have a installation medium. I read that I can use the Win 8.1 Enterprise test installation medium. I downloaded the iso file and burned a DVD. The Refresh Option accepts the installation medium and runs. When it reaches 100% it states that there was a problem with the refresh and that no changes were made.
I can open the cmd prompt, login, and access the files system.
Does anybody help me? Is there a way to get the system running again without having to reinstall everything. I would need to get Win7 installed, update all drivers, then install Win 8, then update to Win 8.1, then install all software and then get all settings and network connection up again. This will cost me 3 days.
Is there any way to find out what is causing the repair mode?
Thanks, Marcus
