I've been using an MSI GT60 since around last September, and it came pre-installed with Windows 8. I updated to Windows 8.1 pretty quickly, and started to encounter some issues in November. While playing games, my computer would often BSoD with the error message DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. As it only happened with a few games, I assumed it was an issue with those games and didn't look into it any more. It only occurred while I was playing games, not when I was doing any form of work.
A few months ago, however, I started getting the same DRIVE_POWER_STATE_FAILURE issue while working. I would only have a few programs open, such as Google Chrome and Skype, which shouldn't be very CPU intensive. My computer would randomly BSoD, consistently once a day.
Looking through other problems people seem to have of this variety, I read that each case is different, and that I should post my dmp files. I have included the one from my most recent crash, which happened a few minutes ago.
I apparently can't paste links right now, since my account is unverified, but I'll paste the Dropbox link here once that gets sorted.
I can include other .dmp files if needed. I'm not sure what I can do personally with the .dmp files, but my understanding is that these can help others solve this problem. If there's anything else I can give to help solve this, let me know.
Thanks!
