I always got the reminder message to upgrade to 8.1 every time I turned my computer on. It always gave me the option of upgrade now, upgrade 1 hour 2 hours 3 hours 4 hours later, or remind me later. Last time I got the reminder message it didn't
give me the option of remind me later so I forced to choose 4 hours later. I contacted technical support over the phone about the issue and received remote assistance support. The guy went into the windows update center and deleted one of the updates
that he said had to do with preventing windows 8.1 from installing on my computer. So, I had to restart my computer after that and when my computer finally booted up after about a 20 to 30 minute setup process, I had windows 8.1 installed on my computer.
