I have 3 drives [ C: , D: and E: ] in my 1 TB hard drive and using windows 8.1 pro volume licences version. Due to some malfunctioning of some application, I backup the C: and format the C drive and go for the new installation of windows 8 x64 Edition.
I boot with windows DVD and format the C: drive but then it is prompting for GPT partition of the disk, otherwise it'll not install. For this purpose I consulted the following article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/dn336946.aspx .
Here these following command are given
select disk <disk number> clean convert gpt exit
but no-where is mention the consequence of the clean command. After reading this article I have done the same in my system. Before executing cleanCommand in diskpart utility, there are no such warning about the consequence of it so after clean command, my D: and E: are also gone, I lost the partition table and my 1TB hard drive is converted into single drive RAW partition.
I think I lost partition table but but data is still existing in D: and E: . What should I do next? If I continue my windows 8 (Volume Licences) installation then can I able to recover my data or in this stage (RAW partition) I can recover the partition or recover the data? Please mention the recovery procedure.
Thank you.
