I'm deploying Surface Pro 3s to my office and have so far twice encountered this problem. The Surface, when plugged into the dock, does not recognize the Ethernet network. I checked the Device Manager and saw that the Surface Ethernet Adapter isn't properly installed. Instead, under 'Other devices', there's a miscellaneous 'Ethernet adapter' which hasn't installed correctly. In the device status, I get this error:
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
So far, I've been unable to resolve this issue. Updating the driver doesn't work. Uninstalling it and reinstalling it doesn't work. Disabling the device and reinstalling doesn't work. Installing the latest Surface Pro 3 firmware upgrades haven't worked. A factory reset hasn't worked. I'm at a total loss how to get these Surface Pro 3s to recognize the Ethernet adapter for use in their docks. Any thoughts?
