I've built a PC for my father, and he wants the files and settings transferred from one PC to the other. The old one's running Windows 7, and the new one's running Windows 8. Both are set to English (UK) in every option and setting that I can find, but on a closer inspection, I've found out that the entries in regedit are different. I don't know exactly which entry (or entries) I have to edit, but the basic result right now is that I can't transfer settings from the Windows 7 box to the Windows 8 one because the language settings are apparently different.
I'm going to try changing both PCs to en-US and restart them, then try the transfer, but on the chance that this doesn't work, I would like to know what other people have done to rectify this problem.
