Having given up with Windows 8, I have a new Win 7 pro machine and am trying to transfer data, emails, user account settings etc to the Win 7 machine.
It runs fine, connects the machines via my network, selects the user account files and some shared files, but when I hit the button to actually make the transfer I get a message saying "Windows Easy Transfer can't create the user account on your new PC".
It will transfer just the shared files if I deselect the user account files before hitting transfer, but I can't get it to work with the user account files.
Both user accounts on old and new PCs are administrators and it isn't the new win 7 machine as I tried it on another Win 7 PC with the same problem.
I wonder if there is something in the architecture of Win8 which is stopping this?
