I have multiple machines running windows 8. All are genuine Windows 8 installation. Since I am on a restricted bandwidth internet link, I need to be able to update multiple machines by downloading only once.
I created a ISO file from the Upgrade Windows with only a product key page. Download was successful. I have also obtained a Windows 8.1 installation disk from Microsoft ($14.95) after a 7 hour tech support call.
I attempted to upgrade the machine using the Key used for that machine to do the download. I continue to get the "this key is not valid for this version of Windows" error message. As this is an upgrade for an operating system that I purchased within the last year, I would like to upgrade my multiple machines from a single download. Downloading the upgrade for each machine would exceed my monthly download capacity. I believe that I should be able to upgrade my machines for free since the upgrade is offered to those with an unlimited DSL/Cable internet connection for free. There are millions of us out in flyover country that are limited by these download constraints.
