I'm migrating from a domain account on Win 8 to a local account on Win 8.1. I ran Windows Easy Transfer (WET) before wiping the disk with a fresh install of Win 8.1. Snag occurred when WET failed before even getting to the Map account screen. Everything is grey on that screen. So I thought I'd just grab the files from the WET.MIG file and say grace over my lost settings. No biggie. MSIT found a program that unpacked the .MIG into a C:/backup directory (I'm guessing it was migrecover, but am not sure). It seems like all the files are there, but alas, the time-stamps are all the moment the unpacking took place. Ditto permissions, etc.
Is there any way I can unpack that .MIG file while preserving the attributes of all my files and directories? As an old UNIX guru, I could do it, but I know not from Windows. Thanks in advance.
