I'm having trouble installing both Lightroom 3 and Quicktime in Windows 8.1 due to the error in the pic. Clicking 'yes' does nothing
A few days ago I was trying to install Lightroom 3.3. The install stalled, so I tried to cancel it. Had to do it
through the task manager. But after I did that, there was a LR icon on the desk top. I was able to open the program and use it, so it seemed like it installed after all. Fastforward to today. I tried to install Quicktime and it gave a similar error to the
one above. That somehow LR installation was suspended. Again, clicking 'yes' did nothing. I uninstalled LR and tried again. Same results. I followed some instructions ( http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-1704-or-1500-install.html ) I found online
about looking in the registry for "inprogress" key. Instructions told to delete it, but it was not there at all, so I couldn't follow through with it. 2nd solution was to unreg and re reg installer, but I couldn't figure out how. I've tried CCleaner
to fix the registry and tried online help at Microsoft and nothing has worked. Tried downloading and re-installing LR and the result is above. I really don't want to have to use the Refresh option. Does anyone have suggestions?
